At least 40 people have been feared killed in another fresh fight between the Alago and Eggon people at Tudun Adabu area of Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The state Governor, Tanko Al-Makura, who visited Wamba, Akwanga and Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Areas on Tuesday to ascertain the level of destruction, also donated relief materials to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) affected by the crisis.
According to to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), property worth millions of naira was also destroyed during the clash.
The fight took a different dimension yesterday as it took its toll on Alago extraction and Eggon nationality in the trouble area in the state.
According to eyewitness accounts, the fight was initially between Eggon and Fulani herdsmen in Assakio, headquarters of Lafia East development area of the state but latter escalated to Tudun Adabu in Obi Local Government Area yesterday, leaving scores dead and thousands of people homeless.
It was also gathered that all the inhabitants of Assakio, Tudun Adabu and Dedere have deserted their homes as a result of the crisis in the areas.
Victims of the troubled areas were seen moving their children and properties to Lafia town.
The crisis which started in Nasarawa Eggon, has soon escalated to Wamba, Akwanga and Obi Local Government Area in the state leaving thousands homeless.
