The Buhari administration identified indiscipline as the bane of the nation's ills and therefore decided to fight it in all its ramifications. Hence the launching of the different phases of War Against Indiscipline (WAI). There were 5 phases of WAI, namely 1- Queuing (March 20, 1984) 2- Work ethic (May 1, 1984) 3- Nationalism & Patriotism (August 21, 1984) 4- Anti- Corruption & Economic sabotage (May 14, 1985) 5- Environmental Sanitation (July 29, 1985) Aspects of this campaign included public humiliation of civil servants who arrived late to work while guards were armed with whips to ensure orderly queues at bus stops. 4 Likes
