Stomach infrastructure, health, 4 others top Fayose’s 6-point agenda -

By Gbenga Ariyibi with agency reportAdo-Ekiti—Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti yesterday, unveiled a six-point cardinal programme which his administration would pursue with vigour.The six cardinal programmes were health, education, agriculture, water, electricity, road and stomach infrastructure.Fayose said this at the Cultural Centre Ado-Ekiti when he declared open a meeting with top officials of Ministries, Departments and Agencies on Medium Term Expenditure framework.He said that the 2015 budget of the state would be designed to achieve objectives of the six cardinal programmes of his administration.FayoseRepresented by Dr. Modupe Alade, the Secretary to the State Government, Fayose assured that his campaign promises of improving lives of the people would not be misplaced.He stressed the commitment of the state government to the improvement of the standard of living of the people through planned economic transformation.Fayose said his administration planned to stop fiscal expansion as well as reduce budget deficit in order to turn around the fortune of the state during the 2015-2017 fiscal years.He emphasised that only new and critical projects with guaranteed sources of funding would be accommodated in the 2015 budget.Fayose, however, called on Ekiti indigenes both at home and in the diaspora to support and cooperate with his administration to successfully carry out its lofty vision for the state.Meantime, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ekiti State has urged the embattled chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in the state, Chief Jide Awe to surrender himself for trialA Federal High Court sitting in Jos had earlier gave a restraining order stopping police from arresting him,the same court has vacated the orderIn a statement signed by the State Secretary of the PDP, Dr Tope Aluko and the made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti yesterday,wondered why the APC was running from pillar to post to evade arrest by the policeAccording to him, Awe could only prove his innocence by submitting himself for trial in the court of law,noting that seeking frivolous injunctions around the country would not assist him.
