Tinubu Humbles Fashola With Ambode's Emergence.

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, proved his dominance ‎in Lagos politics this morning as his anointed candidate, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode floored 12 other aspirants to emerge as APC flag bearer in the February 28, 2015 governorship election.

Ambode, a former Accountant-General of Lagos State, was declared this morning as winner of the Lagos State governorship primaries‎ by the chairman of the state gubernatorial primaries committee, Revd. Peter Obadan.
According to the result announced by Obadan, Ambode won by landslide scoring 3, 735 out of 5,724 valid votes cast, while Lagos State Commissioner for Works, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, came a distant second with 1,201 votes.
The Senate Minority Whip, Senator Ganiyu Solomon and House Speaker, Adeyemi Ikuforiji scored ‎272 and 182 votes to place third and fourth respectively.

“I hereby ‎certify that Akinwunmi Ambode having ‎scored the highest number‎ of votes cast is hereby declared winner,” Revd. Peter Obadan said.
Obadan also commended the aspirants for displaying high level of maturity and understanding during the primaries, and told whoever that is not satisfied with the outcome of the primaries to approach the party’s governorship primaries appeal committee.

In other results, Governor Babatunde Fashola’s anointed candidate and former Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Olasupo Sashore polled 121 votes, while former Lagos State Commissioner for Health and Education, Dr. Leke Pitan and former Commissioner for Rural Development, Dr. Tola Kasali polled 112 and 69 votes respectively.
