Falae in Edo, says SDP better than APC, PDP

THE National Chairman of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chief Olu Falae, yesterday said it was resurrected to challenge All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and that it was ready to make “very serious” impact in next month’s general elections.
Falae stated this in Auchi, headquarters of Etsako West local government council in Edo State where he addressed thousands of party supporters.
At the palace of the Otaru of Auchi, Alhaji Haliru Momoh, where he sought the royal father’s blessing, he said SDP was revived due to absence of ideals of democracy in the two major political parties.
He said the errors of the two parties were the gains of SDP which, according to him, has the welfare of the masses as her focal point.
Falae, who was accompanied by top SDP leaders across the country was received by supporters and members led by the party Chairman, Prince Frank Ukonga, BOT State Chairman, Alhaji Usman Shagady and Hon. Abubakar Momoh with a dressed horse in its colours piloting.
At the venue of the rally which was full to capacity, Falae formally presented the party’s flag and a horse dressed in SDP colours to its senatorial candidate, Hon. Abubakar Momoh, the incumbent member representing Etsako Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.
The party flags were also presented to three House of Representatives and eight House of Assembly candidates including Hon. Rasak Momoh, incumbent member of Edo State House of Assembly representing Etsako West Constituency One and Hon. Anslem Agbabi, a former council chairman and Governor Adams Oshiomhole’s aide.
Party flags were also presented to its standard bearers in Edo South and Central Senatorial Districts.
Speaking at the rally, Momoh urged the electorate to assess him and his fellow contestants based on achievements in office, not on party basis and that the election would be issue-based.
He promised to replicate his achievements in Etsako across Edo North if voted into power.
