Seven persons traveling from Borno state to Abuja for the national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) lost their lives Wednesday in a ghastly motor accident along Damaturu/Potiskum highway, it has been gathered.
One of the dead, Hajiya Saratu Ibrahim Biu, was described as a staunch party woman. The identity of six others could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.
Saratu until her death was the Assistant Public Relation Officer Borno Social Media Forum (BSF), the campaign forum to Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state.
It was gathered that apart from the seven that were reported dead, five other persons sustained severe injuries in the accident which happened at about 10:15am.
Confirming the auto crash to journalists, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Yobe state, Alhaji Yusuf Garba said, he got to know about the incident through a Good Samaritan and immediately mobilized his rescue team to the scene of the incident.
