Ebonyi lawmaker dumps PDP for APGA
The former senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial district Senator Anthony Agbo has dumped Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) to run for gubernatorial election in 2015 general elections in the state.
He said that he joined APGA to pursue his political ambition, saying that the party will capture the governorship seat of the state in 2015 elections in order to remove pain, tears, poverty, hopelessness and disillusion.
Agbo who is one of the founding members of PDP while briefing journalists yesterday said that he had already submitted his resignation letter to Chairman of the party, stressing that APGA as Igbo rooted party will him to actualize his ambition come 2015.
“It is that I, Sen. Anthony Agbo has resigned my membership of the PDP and have joined APGA. Knowing and convinced beyond all reasonable doubt that my seeking for the office of governor of Ebonyi state has a sincere and deep spiritual backing, I have had to do extensive spiritual and temporal consultations. And through such consultations, I have found good reason to resign my membership of PDP”.
“I therefore wish to formally announce to Ebonyi people today that I, Sen. Agbo is running for the office of governor of Ebonyi state on the platform of APGA. You are aware, through my previous interactions that the bedrock of my vision for the state as a governor to be, central revolves around what I have called, the ‘doctrine of the super state’ and this has to do with creating a super state out of Ebonyi state” he stated.
He said that APGA captures the true essence of the Igbo classical philosophy of love, care and development of your neighbor and neighborhood through tireless industry, selflessness and unbending patriotism which he said constitutes the key to the greatness of the Nigeria state.
Agbo also noted that APGA had already adopted President Jonathan as its Presidential candidate for the forthcoming election and urged other well meaning Nigerians to support the re-election of the president for second term in office come 2015.
