Sokoto State governor, Aliyu Wamakko, has said more governors have concluded plans to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Wamakko, who did not mention the names of the governors and their states, made the statement on Saturday in Wamakko after the conduct of ward congresses in Wamakko Local Government Area.
Five governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including Wamakko, had defected to the APC last year.
But the governor, confirming what has become a recurrent position in the polity, insisted that more governors would join the opposition political party ahead of the 2015 general election.
Meanwhile, leader of the ‘New PDP,’ which merged with the APC and chieftain of the APC in Kwara State, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, has said that the threat by the leadership of the PDP to take over power from the ruling APC in the state in 2015 is not realisable.
Speaking with journalists in Ilorin on Saturday, during the APC ward congress in his Baboko ward, Alhaji Baraje noted that no stranger could dislodge political dynasty of Saraki, saying: “We have a tradition and this has been in existence for over four decades now. For any political party, PDP inclusive, to say they will take over power from APC led government in Kwara is impossible.
